Laura Rectenwald is a licensed Professional Geoscientist in Texas and Louisiana. Particular areas of expertise include Texas Risk Reduction Program Assessments, industrial regulatory compliance audits, soil and groundwater remediation projects and litigation support.
Laura obtained a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from Baylor University. For her Master's thesis, she studied the efficacy of an ecological wastewater treatment system for nutrient reduction in wastewater. She received her Ph.D. in Forestry from the Arthur Temple College of Forestry at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) for her study of the physiological and morphological responses of three tree species to uptake of cadmium and trichloroethylene. Formerly an adjunct member of the graduate faculty at SFASU, she taught a course in environmental risk assessment. Presently she serves on the SFASU Board of Regents.
She also has received 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification and training in wetlands delineation and naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) surveys.
Laura has previously served as chair for Business Advocacy with the Longview Chamber of Commerce, the board of the Longview ISD Foundation, and the vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall.
