U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits go into effect on March 19, 2017: According to the Federal Register Notice dated January 6, 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is reissuing 50 existing Nationwide Permits, two new Nationwide Permits and one new general condition. Nationwide Permits are used to authorize activities that result in minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects, and one primary advantage in using Nationwide Permits is that they provide for a streamlined permitting process in comparison to the USACE Standard Individual Permit process. The reissued and new Nationwide Permits go into effect on March 19, 2017. Information addressing the Nationwide Permits can be accessed at http://www.usace.army.mil/Missions/CivilWorks/RegulatoryProgramandPermits.aspx.
